Join WSP to apply for the Energy & Utilities Infrastructure Engineer role in the UK & Ireland. Our Development team specialises in providing sustainable development infrastructure solutions from planning to full implementation, advising private and public sector clients on Highways, Public Realm, Sewerage, SUDS, Building Drainage, Earthworks, Flood Protection and Utilities coordination/diversion on a range of developments.
In this role you will lead engagement with and advise clients on technical utilities matters, using a deep understanding of utility constraints and opportunities to manage project teams within the UK and internationally. You will produce innovative technical solutions and develop designs for implementation across the full project spectrum from concept to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a wide variety of utility projects from local schemes to class leading projects of national significance.
- Lead and work within multidisciplinary teams in the UK and internationally, managing coordinated project delivery.
- Provide an experienced senior point of contact for the Development team and clients on key projects.
- Drive business growth with existing clients and develop new client relationships.
- Work closely with diverse clients to deliver complex schemes to the highest standards, budget and programme.
- Mentor and develop our growing team.
- Provide the expected quality of service for our clients and uphold our professional reputation.
- Deliver a high level of commercial awareness, project/programme management and efficient problem solving.
- Chartered Engineer or open/working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Civil Engineering Degree, or similar equivalent qualification.
- Experience delivering utility connections, diversions and utility infrastructure strategies for small, medium and large schemes in the UK.
- Rounded understanding of Electricity, Gas, Water, and Telecommunications networks, in relation to new development activities.
- Experience of Multi‑Utility / iDNO / ICP and commercial risk/opportunities.
- Ability to develop utility demand calculations based on the needs of a development.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage and work on multiple projects concurrently and effectively organise your time and your project teams between them.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with co-professionals and deliver high quality reports.
- Experience in directing BIM teams (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit etc) in their production of quality project models and design outputs.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).
