WSP is looking for Engineers and Assistant Engineers to join our industry‑leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We are expanding our Digital Infrastructure Design Capability across all areas and are actively seeking individuals who have a strong enthusiasm for digital technologies and digital design methodologies. It is crucial to us that our team members question traditional design practices, challenge the status quo, and conceive innovative solutions to enhance our design and delivery processes. This role can be based in either Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester or London.
A Little More About Your Role
As an engineer, you will engage in design tasks within a broader team, facilitating your on‑the‑job learning of all aspects related to roadside infrastructure design. You are expected to collaborate efficiently with the team, share ideas, provide support, and address any gaps as necessary. You will also work with a diverse group of individuals and contribute to the mentoring and development of our junior staff. Your role will require a strong problem‑solving mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguous situations, escalating issues to senior staff when appropriate.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or relevant experience in technology design
- Either working towards professional registration or professionally registered with an accredited institute.
- In possession of domain knowledge in a relevant industry, such as power, communications, electrical, electronics or highway design.
The Ideal Candidate Should Have The Following Skills or Competencies
- Understanding of roadside infrastructure and design standards
- Ability to carry out design processes, including the use of design tools
- Working as part of a team in delivering designs or schemes
- Collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines
