A Little More About Your Role
You will lead our rail estimating function and play a pivotal role in our client‑facing commercial team as part of our leading ‘Project Management Commercial Management (PMCM) Rail’ Group. Your role will include estimating, cost planning, procurement and cost assurance of projects ranging in size and complexity, working for a variety of internal and external clients. The principal responsibility is to deliver cost estimates and lead the development of our rail estimating team, while broadening your skills across all aspects of cost and commercial management.
Your Team
You will join a diverse, growing team of estimators, cost managers and commercial managers working across multiple sectors. The team provides estimating, cost, commercial management, programme and project management, and project controls services to deliver both rail and infrastructure projects for public and private clients.
What We Will Be Looking For
- Rail estimating experience and knowledge of measurement methods such as RMM1, MMHW and CESMM4.
- Relevant educational background.
- Good technical writing and client‑facing communication skills.
- Experience with estimating software such as CostX and CANDY.
- Bottom‑up estimating experience from first principles.
- Passion for making a difference and a strong drive, vision and technology skills.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts and other industry standard contract forms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
- Previous experience in rail systems/engineering estimating or commercial management.
- Demonstrable estimating cost and commercial management experience in the rail sector and/or civil engineering and highways projects.
