WSP seeks graduates for our Civil Teams in Bridge Engineering, Aviation – Airport Planning & Advisory, and Pavement Engineering. The teams operate across the UK and internationally, offering a range of projects from infrastructure to airport planning.

Locations:

  • Bridge Engineering: Exeter, Carlisle, Edinburgh, Glasgow
  • Aviation – Airport Planning & Advisory: London
  • Pavement Engineering: Reading or London

Graduate Development Programme:

A two‑year programme supports personal and professional growth with blended learning, workshops, mentoring, and professional registration support. Graduates will work on projects and receive mentorship from experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bridge Engineering: Support experienced engineers with structural inspections, assessment, design, strengthening, repair, asset management, and project management. Examples include:
    • Bridge inspections using specialist access and confined space entry techniques.
    • Site visit organization, structural design, and asset management.
    • Structural assessment calculations, contractor supervision, and project management.
    • Business development and tender preparation.
  • Aviation – Airport Planning & Advisory: Deliver high‑quality airport planning and advisory services, including master planning, demand forecasting, capacity analysis, and sustainability advice for UK and international projects.
    • Technical delivery of planning tasks and capacity analysis.
    • Preparation of bids and proposals.
    • Supporting emerging markets such as sustainable aviation fuels and AAM/eVTOLs.
  • Pavement Engineering: Deliver pavement assessment, design, and asset management for aviation, maritime, streetscapes, and highways.
    • Inspection of highways and pavements.
    • Pavement design to National Highways standards and military/commercial airfield standards.
    • Design of repairs and maintenance assets, report writing, and calculations.

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with at least a 2:2 grade. Master’s only accepted for the Bridges team.
  • Graduation by April or September 2026.
  • Passion for engineering, desire for the built environment, creativity, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for sharing ideas and a drive to inspire others.
