WSP is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Engineer to join its Roads team in the London & South East region. This role offers the chance to work on a wide range of projects across the region, from major strategic highways to local authority infrastructure schemes.
About the Role
You will work alongside a talented team of professionals, ranging from early‑career engineers to established project managers. The role requires close collaboration with National Highways and local authority clients on projects that include active travel, digital design, strategic network improvements, maintenance, alignment, road safety and public realm work.
Responsibilities
- Deliver road projects and services for Central Government Authorities, Local Authorities and other public/private sector clients.
- Support the Senior Engineer/Team Leader with the development of designs using Civil3D and AutoCAD.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including landowners, and update consultation management database systems.
- Guide, supervise and direct junior team members in technical and project management matters to ensure effective project delivery and support the technical/professional development of the team.
Qualifications
- A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification within a highway design role.
- Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status; Member of an appropriate Institution.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision, or as part of a larger delivery team on complex projects in a CAD/BIM environment.
- Adept in the use of AutoCAD, and a willingness to develop further in Civil3D/GIS and BIM.
- Experience of dealing with stakeholders, including landowners, and the ability to record all consultations.
- Accurate record keeping and excellent attention to detail.
