You’ll be responsible for leading a team of Business Support Administrators located across different offices, applying proactive people skills to manage workloads, training, and operations. The role involves overseeing data management, training, simplification of services, implementation of service level agreements, policy compliance, employee relations, and driving key initiatives to improve profitability and client experience. The UK Business Administration team is the backbone of the UK WSP business and is key to the smooth running of the business.

The team is comprised of Business Support, Project Support, Document and Accessibility specialists, Graphics and Concierge, and a Personal Assistant network. You will be able to meet your colleagues, share best practice, and contribute to a safe and healthy working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Data management and proactively overseeing the workload of the team to avoid any disruption to the service, anticipating and responding to ensure adequate resources.
  • Identifying and carrying out training, inductions, meaningful Personal Development Reviews, mentoring and coaching of the team.
  • Drive operational excellence through supporting simplification and continuous improvement across Business Admin.
  • Support the Deputy Head of Business Administration with the implementation of service Level Agreements, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with WSP procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure that administration staff adhere to and are kept up to date with relevant policies and procedures, as well as technology and system changes to deliver an outstanding client experience.
  • Support the Deputy Head of Business Admin with employee relations matters across the team.
  • Drive key initiatives and projects across Business Admin and the wider business, utilising effective change management.
  • Drive and maintain regular engagement with stakeholders to promote Business Support services.
  • Identify potential opportunities to increase the profitability of the team.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams, with direct line management experience.
  • Extensive experience delivering high‑quality business administration service in a demanding and pressurised environment; previous similar roles considered.
  • Effective collaborator, able to drive and lead key projects.
  • Inspires, motivates, encourages, and influences others.
  • Ability to plan, problem‑solve and use own initiative.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • 10 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.
  • Fully conversant with an advanced level in Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); knowledge of Adobe InDesign and wider Adobe Creative Apps is advantageous.
