WSP is an international leader in Intelligent Infrastructure (II) with a strong track record of applying leading-edge lighting, information and communication technologies to optimise efficiency, safety and customer experience. The Lighting and Energy Solutions (L&ES) group of II provides comprehensive lighting and electrical engineering design and advisory services for all aspects of light, lighting and low‑voltage energy. We work with clients across public and private sectors, locally and internationally.
Group Specialises In Six Discipline Areas
- Architectural Lighting: Providing specialist design solutions that are fully integrated within the architecture, creating spaces that are beautiful, comfortable, and inspiring.
- Electrical & EV: We provide a comprehensive design and advisory consultancy service for all types of lighting/sign installations, plus electric vehicle charge points and market trader facilities.
- Environmental Lighting: Obtrusive lighting advice to assist clients in making informed decisions to reduce the environmental impact of lighting from initial concept through to maintenance.
- Local Government: Supporting clients with the delivery of daily activities including all aspects of design, smart space application, technical report development and asset management.
- Strategic Road Network: Connecting the UK’s highways requires in-depth knowledge from initial network appraisal, survey support, optioneering, design, operation and management.
- Technical Excellence: Providing specialist advice and support to facilitate sustainable and resilient change through research, policy, Future Ready and Expert Witness services.

- A proven ability to analyse and interpret information from various sources and communicate your findings effectively.
- Experience working either as a client, consultant or contractor, ideally within a transport, public sector or high‑risk environment.
