A little more about your role… As a fire engineer, you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects at once from a university in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London, with plenty of international projects. The goal is to enable innovative architectural design without compromising on the fire safety of the building. You’ll be running through design information, liaising with other WSP disciplines such as Facades, Acoustics and Structures, presenting designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and helping to inform the design team about what changes could be made to increase the safety of the building. There is a lot to learn, and you are likely to be guided through a variation of software packages, fire standards, team briefings and client updates from the start. We regularly get together for social events. In addition to the day-to-day role, we will assist the successful candidate toward professional registration via the IFE and other professional organisations.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… You will have a BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Experience within the fire engineering consulting industry. This role can be based from any of our UK major offices.
