Join WSP as a Quantity Surveyor/Cost & Commercial Manager in the PMCM Team based in Bristol, hybrid with travel to client sites. You will provide pre‑ and post‑contract QS services, including estimating, cost planning, procurement, cost assurance and post‑contract financial management for projects of varying size and complexity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets
- Conduct cost planning and cost control during construction
- Support procurement and contract administration
- Assure costs and manage post‑contract financials
- Lead or assist in QS/commercial projects, bid writing, mentoring, people leadership and industry representation as required
Qualifications
- MRICS or Assoc RICS or working toward a professional qualification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in QS/Cost and Commercial competencies required by relevant professional institutions
- For senior roles, demonstrable management, project leadership and delivery experience
Desirable
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Adaptable and flexible workload management
- Alternative or additional professional qualifications (e.g., CICES, AcostE)
- Experience with public sector or heavy industry projects
- Willingness to travel from base office to client or project sites
- Passion for making a difference in a dynamic team
- Degree or equivalent higher education
- Organisational and time‑management skills, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Innovative mindset, willingness to challenge status quo
- Familiarity with CostX, CEMAR, NEC contracts, and other industry standard contracts
- Experience in QS/Cost and Commercial Management within a consultancy, contractor or client organisation – particularly in water, energy, environment, infrastructure or transportation sectors
