Responsibilities
- Undertake structural engineering design for discrete packages of work, including the production of reports, calculation packages and specifications.
- Supervise technicians in the production of 3D models and drawings that clearly communicate the structural engineering solutions.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to produce coordinated design solutions.
- Communicate design solutions verbally and through sketching, drawing, writing and presentations.
- Visit site to carry out inspections during the construction phase, and to assess existing structures.
- Report directly to the lead structural engineer for the projects you are involved with.
- Engage with multidisciplinary design teams, including external consultants, and contribute to the overall success of projects.
Qualifications
- An engineering degree and progression towards Chartered status (MIStructE / MICE).
- Working knowledge of structural engineering principles and the application of Eurocodes.
- Developing understanding of the appropriate use of analytical techniques and design software.
- Interest in low‑carbon design and the assessment of embodied carbon in design solutions.
- Willingness to take responsibility for your designs, be proactive and support less experienced team members.
- Successful applicants must be security‑cleared prior to appointment.
