A Little More About Your Role

  • Secure land access, arrange surveys, and build strong relationships with stakeholders and landowners.
  • Support land access projects in the Energy industry (ideally).
  • Assess land‑related risks, constraints, and opportunities for project planning.
  • Engage with landowners, communities, and stakeholders with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Arrange and coordinate land surveys, ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards.
  • Work on infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects (preferred).
  • Consult with landowners to explain proposed schemes, discuss potential impacts, and ensure accurate consultation notes are taken and uploaded to our consultation database.
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement, building trust and positive relationships.
  • Adhere to WSP H&S procedures for all site work.
  • Prepare Orders and carry out statutory processes to acquire land and land rights.
  • Negotiate wayleaves, easements and other land consents.
  • Possess knowledge of Ops & non‑ops Land access permissions, Licences S172s, E Permit Procedure, RAMS, and Site Safety (preferred).
  • Collaborate with Land team colleagues and other WSP teams in engineering, environmental, and planning disciplines.
  • Manage junior Land Team members, providing support and technical training.
  • UK travel required.

What We Will Be Looking For You to Demonstrate

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Geography, Land and Estate Management, Agriculture or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience delivering land referencing, land access, survey access, landowner engagement services on infrastructure/renewable energy development projects.
  • Experience negotiating with landowners and knowledge of the legal process for acquisition of wayleaves/easements/servitudes.
  • Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Experience developing Orders and/or acquiring consents and interests in land, and knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Attention to detail for maintaining high quality assurance across deliveries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, building relationships with colleagues, landowners and clients.
  • Effective communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Membership or a professional body advantageous (optional).
