A Little More About Your Role: As a member of the Roads Commercial Team, reporting into the Commercial Director, you will be assigned to work and provide the commercial lead on some of our major Frameworks, working alongside the Framework leadership team(s). The key aspects of the role are to:

  • Provide direction and support to the Framework Leadership Team and project staff on commercial matters including governance and contractual compliance.
  • Provide commercial lifecycle support to Quality / General Managers on contractual matters.
  • Review and oversee agreement and governance of Work Orders and subcontracts including contract reviews.
  • Supervise and support the commercial team working to support the Framework Commercial Lead in carrying out contract reviews of Work Orders and providing commercial advice to teams.
  • Oversee the identification, reporting and resolution of non-conformities and/or any Contract Management Points with the General Managers and National Discipline Leads in each region.
  • Champion commercial best practice and ongoing learning through a programme of commercial and contract training.
  • Oversee and support in any audits.
  • Provide performance and trend analysis to enable improvements, efficiencies and lessons learnt.
  • Work closely with our internal Legal Team, Project Directors, Project Managers and Operations Directors in managing and resolving any active disputes and/or potential claims.

What We’d Be Looking For You To Demonstrate: Be an active member of the WSP Transport and Infrastructure Commercial Team contributing to decision making, providing training, identifying business improvement opportunities; and contributing to the development of an enhanced commercial culture in the business.

Professional Experience: Coming from a relevant industry (Transport and Infrastructure), consultancy or client organisation would be beneficial. Relevant Degree and/or Membership of a relevant body is preferable. Proven people and commercial management skills; able to develop/maintain excellent relationships. Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to influence and deal with conflicting priorities and to offer positive solutions. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment. Relevant and applicable contract management (full lifecycle) and contract experience in the UK and/or Ireland using standard forms of contract i.e. NEC, COE.
