Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise data security strategy aligned with business priorities and risk appetite.
- Own and evolve the end-to-end DLP program and tools (including Microsoft Purview, policy creation, monitoring, incident response and continuous improvement).
- Lead the design and implementation of secure data collaboration frameworks for internal and external business partners.
- Establish Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and metrics to transparently measure program performance and communicate effectiveness to senior leadership using modern reporting tools.
Technology Solutions and Processes
- Guide your team in evaluating, implementing and managing advanced data security technologies (e.g., DLP/Purview, DRM).
- Ensure solutions are optimally configured, integrated and tuned to minimise business friction while reducing data exposure risk.
- Stay ahead of emerging threats, technologies and best practices to continuously strengthen WSP’s data security posture.
- Direct the development, maintenance and enforcement of data security policies, standards and procedures.
- Enhance data governance processes, including classification, handling and secure sharing.
- Lead incident response for data security events, ensuring rapid containment, remediation and clear communication.
Leadership and People Responsibilities
- Set yearly goals and targets for the services and follow up on their deliveries.
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of data security specialists.
- Develop strong cross‑functional working relationships with security and IT teams and align with WSP’s internal and external client demands.
- Provide feedback on the governance process for continued improvement, especially on the operational parts.
Finance/Budgetary Responsibilities
- Plan team capacity and resource needs (budgets) to ensure quality and resilient services in data security.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on tooling and identify additional needs.
- Oversee licensing, usage monitoring and growth planning to ensure cost‑effective scalability.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in data management or a similar position.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, data sciences or related field.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with risk management, including risk analysis, mitigation and monitoring.
- Knowledge of information security regulations applicable to WSP.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus.
- Familiarity with IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL and ISO 2700x, NIST.
- Familiarity with governance, compliance and audit within IT environments.
