Key Responsibilities and Projects
- Work on innovative projects across a broad range of clients, sectors and scales, including Nature Advisory, Marine & Aquatics, Air Quality, Acoustics and Landscape Architecture.
- Participate in projects such as active travel plans, HS2 Rail, Renewable Energy, public realm designs for town centres, pedestrianisation schemes and more.
Landscape Architecture Team
As a graduate, you will support client projects with senior staff. You will contribute to landscape design and assessment across various sectors and receive guidance from the team.
Day-to-day Activities (Landscape Architecture)
- Provision of landscape consultancy services and technical input for projects under senior management.
- Written and graphic input to strategic studies and guidance documents, LVIA and TVIA technical reports.
- Design development from feasibility to detailed design, hard and soft landscape detailing and specification, tender and construction period support, post‑construction management activities.
- Use of software such as AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
Cultural Heritage Team
The WSP UK Cultural Heritage and Archaeology team is the largest heritage consultancy in the country.
Day-to-day Activities (Cultural Heritage)
- Analysis of historic maps.
- Site visits to assess scheduled monuments.
- Preparing heritage baselines for reports.
- Researching, GIS mapping.
- Producing support for archaeological desk‑based assessments and heritage statements.
Graduate Development Programme & Future Progression
Our two‑year Graduate Development Programme provides core business and professional skills training, career development workshops, networking, mentoring for professional registration and on‑the‑job experience.
Graduates are supported to achieve chartered status, with training agreements and mentoring towards chartered or incorporated status.
Qualifications
• Graduate with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
• Complete the application form and online skill enabler assessment.
• Start work in either April or September 2026.
• Enthusiasm for creativity, numerical skills, problem solving, data analysis using Excel and GIS, willingness to travel to sites and/or client offices.
