Job Description
A little more about your role…
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering some of the most challenging and rewarding projects within the WSP Energy Transition business. We are delivering some of the world’s most important Renewables projects at all stages of the project lifecycle, where stewardship from early client engagement through to delivery and handover helps to build long-term client relationships. The ability to support a portfolio of projects at any stage is key. This role also supports our assistant project managers to grow under the guidance of seasoned project managers and to deliver exceptional outcomes alongside our engineering and operational teams.
Core Activities Will Include
- Acting as Assistant Project Manager on projects within our portfolio.
- Engaging proactively with clients and delivery partners to promote an efficient approach and progress.
- Ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and KPIs regarding safety, CSR, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Supporting the delivery of operational targets to support the Energy Transition team’s P&L.
- Ensuring projects adhere to corporate governance and collaborating with operations and commercial teams to implement best practices.
- Securing competent technical and commercial resources for projects.
Our Team
Our team’s expertise spans all renewable energy generation technologies. We work with private developers, utilities, government bodies, banks, lenders, contractors, and OEMs to safely deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations. Our teams are based in the UK, India, Ireland, and wider Europe, working internationally with clients across North America, the Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. We support clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, from inception to decommissioning.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
- A degree in a relevant engineering subject, supported by postgraduate experience in project management, design, or operation, maintenance, and testing.
- Site-based project engineering experience in renewables, ideally Solar, Wind, or BESS.
- Outstanding client focus and a collaborative problem-solving approach.
- Knowledge of design and construction of power and energy projects.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and working with all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and develop win-win solutions.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
