Overview
As Technical Director in WSP's Civil Nuclear team, you will provide strategic technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering groups to shape nuclear delivery.
You will guide high-quality design solutions for large-scale new build, SMR/AMR, decommissioning and defence projects, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
You’ll influence programme outcomes, drive innovation, and grow client relationships to win major programmes.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve high performance and quality delivery
- Mentor and develop technical teams to grow capability and support future nuclear professionals
- Oversee complex engineering projects ensuring technical, regulatory and safety compliance
- Lead major nuclear programmes including SMR, AMR, large-scale new build, and operational projects
- Build and maintain client relationships, acting as trusted advisor across key accounts
- Drive business growth by identifying opportunities and contributing to market strategy
- Provide commercial oversight across project portfolios, including budgeting, forecasting and contractual management
- Direct delivery of complex designs, assessments and safety cases
- Champion innovative approaches and continuous improvement across teams

- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) working towards Fellowship
- Experience delivering major nuclear infrastructure in a consultancy setting
- Strong technical expertise in civil, structural, seismic or geotechnical engineering
- Track record of developing client relationships and supporting business growth
- Commercial focus with experience managing financial performance
