As a Senior Associate Environmental Consultant – Environmental Approvals you’ll: Support and deliver environmental assessment and planning projects, including EIS, SSI, SSD, MID, and REFs.

Mentor, and support a team of environmental professionals, fostering professional growth and skills development.

Provide senior level coordination within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful delivery of all environmental approvals required to support project and business objectives.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships across both public and private sectors.

Contributing to work winning and business development, including the preparation of competitive and compelling fee proposals.

Collaborate with leadership, our client’s team, project management and other specialists including ecologists, acousticians, contaminated land scientists, engineers, and designers – to provide strategic advice to ensure best practice environmental outcomes.

Represent the organisation at industry forums, conferences, and client meetings, showcasing technical leadership and thought leadership.

Ensure all activities comply with relevant environmental legislation, policies, and ethical standards at local, state, and federal levels.

Prepare and review submissions, permit applications, and impact assessment documentation.

Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure timely and successful approval outcomes.

What you'll bring: A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications are a bonus)5 - 10 years of experience in environmental planning and approvals Proven experience leading or contributing to projects related to environment impact assessment and approvals, especially in the WA resources sector Demonstrated knowledge of environmental legislation and policy frameworks within Australia.

Demonstrated project management experience, with ability to deliver complex, multi-stakeholder projects on time and within budget.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience writing technical reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences.

Strong business development and client interfacing experience Familiarity with GIS, data analysis, or digital tools for environmental assessment (advantageous but not essential)Why WSP?Imagine a better future for you, and for us all.
