Are you a seasoned Telecommunications Engineer with expertise in Structured Cabling, Outside Plant, Wired and Wireless Networks, and mission-critical projects? We’re looking for a Perth based Senior Telecommunications Engineer to lead the design, integration, and delivery of cutting-edge telecommunications systems across a diverse portfolio of mission-critical projects, with a primary focus on Data Centres and Aviation.
Join our dynamic team in Perth and play a pivotal role in delivering mission-critical solutions across Australia and Asia’s most significant developments. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects across the region for multiple clients. You’ll play a key part in delivering mission critical projects that demand reliability, resilience, and innovation, while contributing to the continued growth and success of our business. In this role, you will:
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the team.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Lead small to medium-sized design projects and support larger, complex programmes, ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the design and documentation of projects involving Structured cabling systems, Outside Plant, IT & OT Networks, ICN platforms.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop ICT strategies and holistic solutions.
- Interfacing with Controls, MEP and Security specialists to develop an architecture that supports other systems holistically.
- Researching and implementing latest innovations in the Telecommunications discipline.
- Preparing technical documentation and managing construction phase services.
- Ensuring compliance with WSP’s quality assurance and project delivery standards.
- Supporting commissioning activities.
About you:
- 7+ years of experience delivering mission critical projects with an emphasis on Telecommunications / ICT services within the Property and Buildings sector.
- Proven experience working in data centres, transport, healthcare and/or aviation.
- Experience in Australia within an engineering consultancy is essential.
- Proven ability to collaborate with MEP engineers, Controls and Security designers.
- Specialist in ICT and/or Telecommunications and ability to provide this technical expertise.
- Experience preparing technical documentation (e.g. specifications, schematics, reports) and managing construction phase services.
- Demonstrated project leadership experience in managing project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.
- A collaborative mindset, enthusiasm for innovation, and commitment to delivering technically strong and efficient project outcomes.
- Engineering degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Telecommunications, Computer Systems or Electrical Engineering.
