We are seeking a Senior Technical Director across our WA team to drive success in pursuit and delivery of major projects, client relationship and portfolio growth, and fostering technical excellence within the broader team.
As a Senior Technical Director – Environmental Approvals you'll: Overseeing the strategy, pursuit, management and delivery of major projects.
Fostering Technical Excellence within WSP's Ecology & Environmental Approvals Business Unit.
Support the delivery of a successful Expertise/Technical Excellence strategy and Technical Training programs integrated with the national strategy.
Leading the growth of new client relationships and portfolios in strategic focus areas across the VIC, SA and WA markets, aligned with WSP strategic growth areas, in particular:- Mining, resources and government clients in WA; Mining and resources clients in SA; and Government clients in VIC.
Lead and role model a zero harm HSE culture, ensuring all safety and environmental obligations are met.
Support strategic technical hiring and workforce planning to build depth and resilience across the team.
What you'll bring: A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications are a bonus)20 – 25+ years experience in Environmental Approvals A well-developed understanding of people and knowledge that has previously built highly effective teams.
You have experience with strategy, business growth and an understanding of developing and retaining technical talent.
Demonstrates the highest levels of quality excellence in technical performance and assurance through innovative thinking, application of tools and a continuous improvement focus.
Experience in working with industry leads and client relationship managers to drive market and client strategies that maximise revenue and provide excellent client service.
Highly competent in managing risk on complex or substantial projects.
Has built technical capability of others (training & mentoring) and transfers technical expertise within the organisation.
