Overview
In this Senior Occupational Hygiene and HazMat Consultant role, you lead hazardous materials assessments, including asbestos, lead, and PCBs, from survey through remediation and clearance. You provide occupational hygiene guidance on exposure risk and control strategies, and you develop management plans and monitoring programs. You mentor staff, nurture client relationships, and ensure compliance with Australian regulations. The position is based in Perth with hybrid work and offers mentoring and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Lead hazardous materials assessments (asbestos, lead, PCBs) from survey to remediation and clearance
- Provide occupational hygiene advice: exposure assessment, risk management, control strategies
- Oversee hazardous materials management plans and hygiene monitoring programs
- Ensure compliance with Australian legislation, codes of practice, and standards
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, risk assessments, and client communications
- Mentor and guide consultants and junior staff
- Build and maintain client relationships and identify new business opportunities
- Stay updated on industry developments and technology trends in hazardous materials and OH
- Support tender submissions and contribute to business growth
Key requirements
- 5+ years in hazardous materials management and occupational hygiene consulting
- Expertise in surveys, risk assessments, and remediation projects
- Strong knowledge of Australian/state regulations, codes of practice, and standards
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality reports
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
- Professional membership or certification (AIOH, COH, Licensed Asbestos Assessor) regarded
- Valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites
