Our Water team in WA is entering a pivotal growth phase. With a newly appointed engineering leader bringing decades of experience from Water Corporation, we’re setting a new benchmark in consulting engineering. This is a rare opportunity to build capability from the ground up, lead transformational projects, and play a key role in shaping WSP’s WA water infrastructure strategy.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Principal Engineer (Civil / Structural) (Associate and Director-level candidates will also be considered) to provide technical leadership across water and wastewater infrastructure, including:

  • Water / Wastewater Conveyance
  • Water / Wastewater Treatment
  • Project and Design Delivery
  • Water-retaining structures and complex assets

This is a high-impact leadership role suited to a well-connected technical leader who thrives on growing teams, influencing clients, and delivering critical infrastructure with strong national backing.

What You’ll Be Driving

  • Lead the technical delivery of major water infrastructure projects across WA
  • Set standards in design excellence, design management and project delivery
  • Deliver innovative, practical and future-ready engineering solutions
  • Provide civil/structural leadership across pipelines, pump stations, networks and water-retaining structures
  • Champion Safety in Design, quality, commercial and WHS outcomes
  • Play a key role in major pursuits, bids and proposals in the WA water market
  • Support business development alongside the Section Executive
  • Mentor, coach and grow a high-performing, multi-disciplinary national team
  • Collaborate nationally to deliver integrated, high-value outcomes
  • Drive digital engineering and BIM-enabled delivery

About You

You are a respected technical leader with a strong consultancy background and deep experience in water infrastructure. You’ll bring:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 15+ years’ experience (Associate level considered with 10+ years)
  • Chartered status (CPEng / RPEQ / RPV or equivalent)
  • Strong background in water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment, conveyance and water-retaining structures (structural)
  • Proven leadership on major projects, programs or panels
  • Strong client relationships—ideally including Water Corporation
  • Experience across D&C projects and contractor engagement
  • Track record in proposals, pursuits and strategic business development
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed and hybrid teams
  • Passion for mentoring and building technical capability
