Overview
In this role, you will support WSP’s Earth & Environment team with occupational hygiene and HazMat expertise to protect worker health on diverse projects. You’ll work across sampling, asbestos management, site surveys, and indoor air quality assessments, collaborating with senior staff to deliver technical guidance and reports. The role blends fieldwork, data analysis, and client interaction within a culture focused on collaboration and sustainable solutions. Responsibilities
- Conduct sampling for airborne contaminants (e.g., respirable crystalline silica, dust, chemicals) and physical hazards (noise, vibration) to inform safety recommendations
- Develop asbestos monitoring and decontamination strategies and issue clearances
- Perform site surveys and pre-demolition assessments, including sampling suspected hazardous materials
- Provide technical guidance on asbestos removal projects and related workflows
- Conduct indoor air quality, mould and moisture assessments with remediation recommendations
- Manage diverse small–medium scale projects
- Assist the team with strategy and business development
- Analyze data and prepare technical reports and proposals with support from senior staff and Certified Occupational Hygienists
Key requirements
- Typically 2+ years in hazardous materials management and occupational hygiene consulting
- Experience measuring and assessing occupational exposure to hazards in the workplace
- Understanding of consulting and project lifecycle and ability to develop client relationships
- Initiative in report writing, relationship-building, and project management
- Australian Driver's License
- Asbestos Assessors License would be highly regarded
