In this role you will undertake the structural engineering design for discrete packages of work including the production of reports, calculation packages and specificationsSupervise technicians in the production of 3D models and drawings that clearly communicate the structural engineering solutionsWork collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to produce coordinated design solutionsCommunicate your design solutions verbally and through sketching, drawing, writing and presentationsVisit site to carry out inspections during the construction phase, and to assess existing structuresIn your new role you will be reporting directly to the lead structural engineer for the projects that you are involved with. You will have the opportunity to engage with the projects multidisciplinary design teams including external consultants and contribute to the overall success of the projects you are involved with. An engineering degree and hold Chartered status (MIStructE / MICE)A working knowledge of structural engineering principles and the application of EurocodesA developing understanding of the appropriate use of analytical techniques and design softwareAn interest in low carbon design and the assessment of embodied carbon in your design solutionsA willingness to take responsibility for your designs, be proactive and support less experienced members of the teamSuccessful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
