You'll be working alongside a host of talented people ranging from our early career professionals to established engineers and project managers working across the Roads business to improve the local and strategic networks.
Working in partnership with National Highways and Local Authority clients across the region you could find yourself immersed in a diverse range of projects including active travel, digital design (including 3D modelling), strategic network improvements, major and minor maintenance, alignment, road safety as well as public realm.
The role will offer an interesting and varied workload β from major strategic highways projects such as Smart Motorways through to a diverse range of small and medium local authority highways infrastructure improvement schemes.
Prepare of designs and specifications in accordance with Design Manual Roads Bridges (DMRB).
Develop designs using Auto CAD, and Civil3D.
Provide support to Project Managers within the design team in planning, programming, technical input to the pricing of project briefs, proposals, deliverables and cost estimation.
Manage graduate engineers and technicians to deliver work packages coordinating engineering resources.
Work collaboratively with clients and key stakeholders as necessary to deliver the schemes/projects.
Mentor and upskill more junior staff helping them develop professionally and progress towards professional qualifications.
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent within a highway design role.
Highways design experience in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
Experience of complying with Designers Duties under CDMExperience in delivery geometric designs using Auto Desk Civils 3D is advantageous.
NEC and/or Project Management experience is advantageous. To demonstrate initiative and ingenuity in solving engineering problems.
