Your new role, what is involved? As the MEP team leader, you will provide technical expertise across the work streams covering building services surveying and asset data collection; compliance auditing; Independent Certifier/Tester services; technical advisory and technical due diligence. The role is principally to provide MEP leadership and technical expertise. This will be across a variety of PPP type projects in sectors including Education and Healthcare but with a view to grow into other forms of infrastructure.
- Leading and supporting the team in the delivery of technical advisory services, including condition surveying and asset data collection; compliance audits; technical due diligence reviews, and lifecycle / maintenance assessments.
- Provide independent engineering advice to lenders and investors in the property and construction sectors.
- Provide day to day project management of Independent Certifier (IC) services on several projects.
- Deliver quantitative and qualitative analysis in which the inputs and outputs are clear, reliable and well documented.
- Creating logical and innovative solutions to complement the delivery of the team’s work.
- Consulting extensively with external and internal clients; presenting proposals and agreeing a course of action.
- Ensuring budgets are adhered to and deadlines are met.
- Supporting the development of new opportunities and workstreams including acquiring new clients.
Please note that this role will support a national approach and as such a flexible attitude to travelling will be required.
Your Team: The MEP Team is part of the wider Advisory Technical Services Team which is made up of multi-disciplinary professionals from building surveying, QS, engineering, and FM backgrounds. Together we deliver a highly specialised, insight-driven surveying service designed for clients who require absolute clarity, discretion, and technical certainty. We operate with a mindset that combines disciplined inspection methodologies, rigorous evidence standards and refined digital workflows to produce outputs that are transparent, traceable, and confidently defensible.
Our approach is intentionally tailored around engagement, controlled delivery, and a focus on quality, ensuring reliable intelligence that strengthens compliance assurance, investment planning, and long-term asset stewardship. Our team draw on extensive experience delivering complex surveying assignments across varied estates and organisational contexts. With disciplined workflows, secure information handling and a strong peer-review culture, the team ensures that every deliverable reflects technical precision to ensure that clients receive insight that is balanced, trusted, and consistently delivered.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- A qualification in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering; BSc, BTEC, HND/HNC or similar.
- Professional registration as a CEng, or IEng, with membership of a recognised institution such as MCIBSE, MIMechE, or MIET would be advantageous, or the desire to progress towards this.
- A client facing skillset with excellent communication skills.
- You will be driven and motivated to succeed and to develop your team for success.
- Be organised, diligent, and able to set and manage your own schedule together with those of your team.
- Have a flexible approach to working and be a collaborator.
- Be an excellent communicator and be able to function as an impartial and unbiased technical expert.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly with Excel.
- Ideally have a background in MEP asset surveying or Hard FM.
- Knowledge of PFI/PPP would be desirable but not essential.
