Overview
As an experienced in-house solicitor, you support WSP’s growth by delivering timely, commercially focused legal advice.
You will embed contract risk management and compliance across the project lifecycle.
You’ll review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, guiding tender processes and bid documentation.
You work closely with senior stakeholders and partner with teams to enable landmark engineering and construction projects.

Responsibilities
- Review and negotiate contractual documentation (consultancy, project, JV/teaming, framework, collateral warranties, deeds of novation, NDAs, LOIs, sub-consultancy agreements)
- Support corporate governance related to contract approvals and bids
- Provide guidance on tender processes and bid documentation
- Advise on legal and contractual matters as projects are delivered
- Liaise with bid teams, project teams, commercial managers and other staff
- Update the business on relevant legal developments and deliver legal training
- Contribute to the legal know-how within the team
- Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive, professional team environment
- Key requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with post-qualification experience in contractual matters within engineering/construction/advisory sectors
- In-house experience at an engineering consultancy or contractor preferred
- Experience with standard form contracts and complex contracting arrangements
- Degree level education or equivalent
- Construction sector experience or interest
- Ability to work under supervision on day-to-day tasks and develop expertise
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and seek guidance when needed
