Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of complex geotechnical/geological projects with quality, schedule and budget focus
- Develop and review ground models and design parameters for major schemes
- Perform and verify geotechnical analyses for slopes, foundations, earthworks and geohazards
- Manage projects and multidisciplinary work packages including resources and client satisfaction
- Act as client-focal point, fostering trusted relationships and business opportunities
- Design, procure and manage ground investigations; oversee site activities and provide technical leadership
- Mentor and support junior engineers and engineering geologists
- Contribute to bids, tenders and business development
- Champion innovation, sustainability and digital delivery (e.g., 3D ground models)
Key requirements
- Strong technical understanding of geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, ground risk management and site investigation
- Proven experience delivering geotechnical assessments, designs and project management in consultancy, contractor or client environments
- Knowledge of soil/rock mechanics, geotechnical analysis and design to industry standards
- Experience leading project tasks and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent verbal/written communication for reports and design deliverables
- Experience planning/supervising ground investigations and managing contractors
- Strong client-facing skills and ability to manage stakeholders and grow business
- Proactive, collaborative attitude and commitment to developing junior team members
- Chartered status or progress towards chartership (near term)
