Overview

In this role you will support the Freight and Logistics team on a range of projects across policy, infrastructure, urban freight, logistics planning and decarbonisation. You’ll work within a collaborative, mentoring culture and contribute to shaping freight strategies for public and private clients. The role offers hybrid work in UK offices (Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester) and development through CPD and Chartership pathways. You will translate analysis into actionable insights that drive efficient, sustainable freight movement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support across a diverse portfolio of freight and logistics projects in policy, infrastructure, urban freight, logistics planning and decarbonisation
  • Assist with studies and business cases to improve freight systems and routes
  • Support development of evidence bases and policy-aligned advice for national, regional and local frameworks
  • Contribute to feasibility studies and masterplans for logistics facilities and terminals
  • Prepare high-quality reports and presentations to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with quantitative or structured approaches
  • Ability to think critically in unfamiliar subjects and produce evidence-based insights
  • Capability to tailor approaches to individual projects instead of generic solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple topics at pace and switch between priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex analysis clearly
