Overview
In this Electrical Engineer role, you contribute to the delivery of electrical designs for mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
You join the Newcastle Mining team, working with multidisciplinary peers to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes on large capital projects.
You’ll support studies, FEED and detailed design, and contribute to project delivery from concept through construction.

Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical engineering designs for mining, minerals processing, industrial and infrastructure projects
- Assist in the design and development of power distribution systems, substations, HV/LV systems and related infrastructure
- Support studies, concept development, FEED and detailed design activities
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, civil, process and control systems engineers for integrated outcomes
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and safety-in-design workshops
- Support site inspections, commissioning activities and construction-phase engineering services
- Build strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable project delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering standards/processes
- Key requirements
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Approximately 3–7 years' experience in mining, industrial, infrastructure, energy or heavy industry environments
- Experience designing electrical power systems and associated infrastructure
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and engineering practices
- Exposure to project delivery across studies, design and/or construction phases
- Understanding of HV/LV systems, power distribution, motor control and industrial electrical systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
