As the UK Nuclear sector continues to grow, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to shape our direction, support major pursuits, and lead the delivery of complex, high-profile programmes.
As Design & Engineering Manager - Nuclear, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering programmes from opportunity development through to successful delivery. Working closely with clients, partners, project teams and business leaders, you will help shape innovative solutions, secure new opportunities, and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.
Working alongside our established Nuclear leadership team and global network of experts, you will play a key role in growing WSP's Nuclear business to deliver some of the UK's most significant Nuclear opportunities, including:
- Small and Advanced Modular Reactors (SMRs and AMRs)
- Nuclear new build and major infrastructure programmes
- Sellafield and associated projects
- Emerging strategic opportunities across the UK Nuclear sector

Role Accountabilities
- Nuclear Growth and Market Development
- Support WSP's Nuclear growth strategy and identify future opportunities.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, partners and key industry stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategic pursuits, bids and capture activities.
- Work with senior leaders to convert opportunities into successful programmes and strengthen WSP's UK market position.
- Design and Engineering Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex engineering and design programmes.
- Develop integrated delivery approaches from concept and FEED through detailed design and implementation.
- Drive effective integration across disciplines, project teams and stakeholders.
- Support mobilisation and provide visible leadership in technically complex, highly regulated environments.
- Technical Governance and Assurance
- Establish proportionate engineering governance and assurance arrangements.
- Lead engineering reviews, design integration and assurance activities.
- Challenge scope, programme, cost and risk assumptions to support informed decisions.
- Promote technical excellence, safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Capability Development
- Grow WSP's Nuclear capability through recruitment, development and succession planning.
- Mentor engineers and project leaders across multidisciplinary teams.
- Encourage collaboration across WSP's UK and global Nuclear communities.

- Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on major Nuclear programmes.
- Developing and delivering engineering strategies through FEED, detailed design and implementation.
- Operating in highly regulated environments and providing technical governance and assurance.
- Supporting major pursuits, bids and client engagement.
- Managing delivery across geographically and organisationally complex teams.
Your experience may have been gained within:
- Engineering consultancy
- Major contractor or EPC organisation
- Nuclear operator
- Major infrastructure environment
