Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering solutions for projects or work packages across varying scales and stages
  • Ensure projects meet budget, schedule, technical standards, and legal requirements
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to build trusted relationships
  • Plan, programme, and price proposals and deliverables with Project and Technical Delivery Leads
  • Check and certify designs, documents and reports prior to approval
  • Lead and coordinate resources during project delivery
  • Mentor and upskill junior staff towards professional qualifications
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental Legislation, and in-house QA standards

Key requirements

  • Bachelor in Civil Engineering or suitable equivalent
  • Hold IEng or be progressing toward CEng with demonstrable progress
  • Wide-ranging highway design experience across project lifecycle
  • Experience in highway geometry, active travel, public transport, drainage, road restraint systems, pavements, traffic signs/markings, and utilities (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of design standards and codes (e.g., Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, Active Travel Act Wales)
  • Experience leading single or multi-disciplinary projects or work packages
  • Ability to prepare and check transport study or construction project reports/drawings
  • Proficiency with software such as Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage, Causeway, and/or PDS
  • Knowledge of CDM duty holder roles
  • Capacity to identify and manage project and commercial risk with Leaders
  • Strong communication, client/stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
