Overview
In this role, you will develop engineering solutions for highway and transport projects across project lifecycles, ensuring delivery within budget, programme, and standards. You’ll collaborate with clients, stakeholders and internal teams while supporting planning and pricing of proposals. You’ll guide and mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of innovation and inclusion at a global engineering leader. This position offers exposure to diverse public sector programmes and landmark infrastructure, with the flexibility of hybrid working.

Responsibilities
- Develop engineering solutions for projects or work packages across scales and stages
- Ensure delivery to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and internal disciplines
- Support Project and Technical Delivery Leads in planning, programming, and pricing of proposals and deliverables
- Provide guidance and support to junior and developing staff
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (with progress toward IEng or CEng)
- Knowledge of highway design across project lifecycles
- Experience in highway geometry, active travel, public transport, drainage, traffic signs, road markings, and utilities (advantageous)
- Familiarity with design standards such as DMRB, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, Active Travel Act (Wales), and local guidance
- Ability to prepare reports and drawings for transport studies or construction projects
- Proficiency with software tools: Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage, Causeway and/or PDS
- Experience complying with Designers Duties under CDM regulations
