Overview
In this role you drive highway project delivery for public sector clients, operating across planning, design and construction with a focus on quality and efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to manage schemes from inception to handover, mentor junior staff, and continuously improve project performance. The position sits within the Roads team in Wales (Cardiff or Wrexham) and offers opportunities to work on diverse infrastructure projects that shape communities. Responsibilities
- Manage delivery of highways projects for public sector clients through planning, design and construction stages
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and drive efficiencies in project execution
- Monitor, report, and forecast project performance and take corrective action
- Plan, execute, monitor and control projects with limited supervision and manage project change
- Manage contracts and administer their conditions
- Collaborate with Technical Delivery Leads on planning, programming, and pricing of proposals and deliverables
- Contribute to developing the team’s internal knowledge base
- Mentor and upskill junior staff toward professional qualifications
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver schemes/projects
Key requirements
- Professional qualification in project management, and/or an engineering discipline
- Degree in STEM or similar disciplines
- NEC accreditation would be advantageous
- Membership of AP M, PMI, MRICS or MICE
- Background in highway or rail infrastructure projects is beneficial
- Demonstrated competence in stakeholder management, risk, planning/scheduling, and commercial management
- Proficiency in use of project management tools and software
- Experience with Designers Duties under CDM regulations
