Overview
In this role you join a growing Environmental Project Management team to deliver multi-disciplinary environmental projects across the UK. You will work with Senior Project Managers and Technical Leads to keep projects safe, on track and within budget, supporting both public and private sector clients. You’ll have the chance to lead smaller projects while contributing to larger programmes, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and progress toward a Senior Environmental Project Manager role. The role sits in a collaborative PMO ecosystem that values development, impact, and a structured approach to complex projects.

Responsibilities
- Support development of project proposals including scope, resourcing, programme and budget
- Create and maintain project documentation (plans, cost forecasts, risk registers, schedules) for small projects and assist on larger ones
- Monitor progress and drive delivery against timelines
- Manage day-to-day project costs, budgets, forecasts and spend
- Ensure health and safety requirements for site visits and obtain internal approvals
- Support contract management and administration to keep projects compliant
- Proactively manage change and risk, aligning with scope, contracts and governance
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating partners and suppliers
- Champion environmental outcomes and support sustainability and net zero ambitions
- Build relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders and represent the Environment and Consents team as needed
Key requirements
- Experience as Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager in environmental or sustainability sectors
- Solid understanding of programme management principles (WBS, dependencies, critical path); able to interpret MS Project or Primavera P6 outputs
- Commercial awareness with budget management, performance tracking, and change control; experience delivering within budget
- Familiarity with Professional Services Contracts (e.g., NEC3/4) advantageous
- Confident written and verbal communicator; keeps teams and stakeholders well informed
- Working toward or holding membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS); chartership welcomed
