You’ll integrate Zero Carbon and wellbeing targets within multi-disciplinary teams to shape high-profile developments. You will manage your own projects, communicate complex sustainability concepts to clients, and drive innovative, data-driven solutions. Responsibilities
- Develop sustainability strategies for a diverse project portfolio and lead sustainability certifications
- Manage own projects independently and coordinate contributions from design team stakeholders
- Prepare Sustainability, Whole Life Carbon and Circular Economy statements for planning submissions
- Prepare high-quality reports communicating issues and conclusions clearly
- Apply current and proposed UK sustainability legislation to project solutions
- Support and coordinate client briefs on sustainability and wellbeing aspirations
- Understand Building Services and contribute to zero carbon design considerations
- Demonstrate ability to communicate with clients and present findings effectively
- Coordinate training for junior consultants
- Deliver Whole Life Carbon assessments and advise on energy strategies
Key requirements
- Understanding of Net Zero, Low Carbon Design and materials
- Experience as a sustainability consultant leading assessments
- Track record of guiding design teams toward sustainable outcomes and delivering multiple certification assessments
- Knowledge of construction processes and their impact on sustainable design
- Championship of sustainability and capability to drive behavioural change
- Ability to communicate benefits to colleagues and clients
- Bid support experience and commercial acumen
- Understanding of BREEAM and other environmental assessment methodologies
- Understanding of thermal modelling and low carbon energy strategies
- Familiarity with UK planning policies related to sustainability and Net Zero
- Strong presentation and time-management skills
- Ability to coordinate and train junior staff
- Experience delivering Whole Life Carbon assessments
