Overview
In this role, you own regional water-sector accounts, leading client relationships and growth while staying connected to delivery. You will balance account leadership with practical delivery and framework support, shaping opportunities and guiding cross-functional teams. You’ll engage with senior stakeholders, coordinate bid activity, and ensure client success and commercial performance. This is a chance to influence water-sector outcomes within a collaborative, globally connected practice.

Responsibilities
- Act as Account Lead or Client Director for strategic water-sector accounts
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and regional decision-makers
- Develop client plans, pipelines, and action plans aligned with WSP strategy
- Provide regional oversight and coordinate framework managers and delivery teams
- Lead pre-positioning, capture planning and bid activity for priority opportunities
- Support bid teams with client-focused proposals reflecting capabilities and market needs
- Represent WSP at client meetings and industry forums
- Maintain partial billable work on selected projects to stay connected to delivery
- Support delivery quality, commercial performance, client satisfaction, and risk management
- Coach and mentor project managers and technical leads to strengthen delivery and growth
Key requirements
- Experience building trusted client relationships in B2B or framework environments
- Business development experience covering opportunity identification, capture planning and bid leadership
- Experience in water, utilities, regulated infrastructure, environmental programmes, or local government frameworks
- Commercial awareness including pipeline management, bid decisions, delivery risk and profitability
- Ability to connect client insight with technical capability across multidisciplinary teams
- Delivery background in programme/project management, cost or commercial management, or advisory services
- Collaborative leadership style with influence across teams
- Flexibility to travel within the region and to other UK locations
