In this strategic role, you will lead transport planning and traffic engineering efforts for major UK infrastructure, guiding cross-disciplinary teams within a multi-office setting. Responsibilities
- Direct technical management and commercial responsibility for transport work on major infrastructure programmes and lead proposal coordination.
- Contribute to medium/long-term growth strategies and forecasting to inform investment direction.
- Foster cross-discipline collaboration and improve intra-business connectivity across the UK and beyond.
- Manage wellbeing, health and safety, and act as a role model for staff and project teams.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant standards and policies.
- Raise WSP profile via networking, social media, and conference attendance.
Key requirements
- Experience managing and coordinating transport assessments, management strategies, and infrastructure design advice for major/complex projects.
- Experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects and engaging large teams in hybrid/virtual environments.
- Experience engaging stakeholders at various levels (local authorities, planning inspectorate, DfT, transport bodies, communities).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, negotiation, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Strong numerical, spatial, and analytical abilities; proficient with MS Office.
- Excellent knowledge of current transport policy at sub-regional, regional, and national levels and planning consent processes.
