Key Responsibilities
- Provide cost management and commercial support across DfE SRP projects from feasibility through to completion.

- Work collaboratively with the Project Manager / Technical Advisor, supporting project controls, reporting and governance.
- Manage procurement activities, including preparation of tender documentation, tender analysis and contractor appointment.
- Administer projects primarily under JCT Design & Build 2016 and 2024 forms of contract.
- Assess and agree applications for payment, manage variations and change control, and maintain robust cost and risk registers.
- Support risk and value management, including participation in value engineering workshops.
- Prepare regular financial and commercial reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support agreement of final accounts and post‑contract commercial close‑out.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- A qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC, HND, BSc or MSc).
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the built environment, ideally on construction or refurbishment projects.
- Experience within the education sector or public‑sector projects is desirable but not essential.
- Working knowledge of JCT Design & Build contracts and their practical application.
- Strong understanding of cost planning, procurement, change control and commercial reporting.
- Confidence operating in a client‑facing role, working collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Competent user of Microsoft 365 and project controls tools (e.g. MS Project); familiarity with digital and AI‑enabled tools (e.g. MS Copilot) is advantageous.
