Responsibilities

  • You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and to be active on several projects at any given time.
  • You will be using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, NavisWorks and other engineering software for the production and development of drawings.
  • You will read and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual.
  • Prepare models maintaining GG184 and uniclass layer standards.
  • Establish the link between multi-discipline drawings to understand the dependency and impact.
  • Perform peer checks and reviews of drawings.

Mandatory Skills

  • Ability to utilise AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and OpenRoads in adherence to defined CAD standards to develop layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.
  • Checking of Drainage and Highway drawing deliverables.
  • Ensure the quality process in place and adherence to audit requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
  • Proven ability to work up drawings (plans, sections & details) from Engineers basic sketches to full working drawings.
  • Ability to liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate design and drawing production.
  • You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and standards, such as HCD, and IAN 184.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform self-check and maintain the QC process.
  • Ability to understand the comments and how to address and link the impact with other drawings.
  • Basic knowledge about various DMRB standards.
