Join our multi-disciplinary offshore transmission team as an Associate HVDC Engineer, supporting asset owners and operators of HVDC systems throughout all lifecycle stages of a project.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert technical advice for HVDC OEM design reviews.
- Witness HVDC OEM factory testing, on-site inspections, and commissioning of HVDC projects.
- Develop HVDC projects, including technology review/selection and bid preparation/review.
- Develop technical/functional specifications for HVDC converters.
- Design primary plant layouts for HVDC Converter stations.
- Design reviews of HVDC Control and Protection.
- Provide engineering design input to major electrical power infrastructural development projects through various lifecycle stages.
- Coordinate with client project teams and internal team disciplines.
- Provide OEM Support Services.
- Supervise site pre-commissioning and commissioning oversight.
- Provide Technical expert services.
- Managing a team of HVDC & Electrical Engineers.
- Professionally qualified in Electrical Engineering (CEng or working towards).
- Demonstrable understanding of HVDC Station Engineering, Control & Protection and System Studies.
- Ability to coordinate across project disciplines, external subcontractors and remote offices to identify and mitigate technical risks and ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Interest in actively developing external (client) and internal relationships and participating in working groups such as CIGRE, IET and other professional bodies.
