The predicted salary is between 28800 - 48000 £ per year.

We are looking for an Assistant Engineer or Engineer to join our team. This position will see you undertake engineering activities within the Cambridge Bridges Team, in respect of both design and consultancy services, predominantly in the design, assessment or inspection of highway and rail-related structures.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering specific civil/structural engineering tasks and contributing to the civil engineering input to multi-disciplinary infrastructure engineering projects;
  • Maintenance of own working knowledge across aspects of civil/structural engineering and contribute to developing WSP company expertise;
  • Build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, partners and clients, and contribute to marketing of the company to potential customers;
  • Observation of all company Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental commercial and project management disciplines and procedures, as relevant to tasks undertaken.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • MEng in Civil and/or Structural Engineering degree and have some relevant post-graduate experience in Railways and Bridges Projects;
  • Highly motivated, and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision;
  • Committed to personal and professional development;
  • Good team-working skills, particularly in relation to the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects;
  • Good communication skills at all levels, both in oral presentations and written reports;
  • Good problem-solving skills.

YOUR TEAM The Bridges team is busy with highway and rail bridge engineering work for a variety of clients, including local authorities, Contractors, private developers and public-sector clients. You will be driving the quality and timeliness of the service we provide and will use your knowledge and skills to deliver the right quality to time and budget. You will use those attributes to mentor and support more-junior team members. The position is predominantly office based but some travel may be required occasionally for site visits, inspections, or to attend meetings.
