WSO2, a leader in the integration and API management space, is seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Sales Director to lead our UK market expansion. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve ambitious revenue targets, build a strong sales pipeline, and manage a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
- Spearhead top-line growth initiatives for the UK market.
- Develop and execute a market-leading sales strategy for the UK market, aligned with WSO2's overall corporate goals.
- Drive new business development and achieve aggressive sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and industry influencers.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing sales team to exceed individual and team quotas.
- Develop and implement effective sales processes and methodologies to optimize the sales cycle.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activities to ensure WSO2 maintains a competitive edge.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize key partner prospects, including market research, needs analysis, competitive positioning, and commercial attractiveness.
- Secure sustainable commercial partnership agreements that continue through renewal and up-sell to maximize the customer's lifetime value.
- For new partnerships, develop high-growth business plans, consolidate well-considered operating assumptions, and adequate resource planning.
- Champion and secure approval for business plans.
- Establish and manage a development pipeline covering multiple countries and partnerships.
- Set bold, yet achievable revenue goals, metrics, and milestones.
- Track and provide regular reporting on progress and success.
- Work closely with existing functional teams to create new business plans, taking into account resources and implementation timeline assumptions.
- Effectively manage business activities relating to strategic and financial growth.
- Create new strategies for marketing, and monitor quality control and quality assurance measures.
- Build effective relationships with clients and ensure revenue growth.
- Serve as an executive spokesperson for clients, partners, and the industry via media, analyst, and speaking engagements.
- Travel as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of success in exceeding sales targets within the B2B software industry, ideally within the integration and open-source middleware space.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK application software market and its specific needs and challenges.
- Strong understanding of integration and API management technologies, along with open-source software solutions.
- Excellent team player, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- A bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field.
- Experience working with a global team.
- Experience leading a sales team and driving regional growth.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity and 15+ successful years in a supervisory position, along with experience in due diligence and financial assessment.
- Experience in operational management, enterprise GTM, and SaaS in the UK market.
- A charismatic, executive-level presence with the ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders, including the ability to present succinctly and clearly in both written and verbal communications.
- Strong financial and commercial analytical skills that drive results, including the capacity to quickly understand new markets and relevant operational and financial dynamics.
- A track record of successfully integrating new acquisitions from both a financial and operational perspective.
