Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Aylesbury. The Quantity Surveyor will manage end-to-end cost control for scaffolding and access projects, including preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), measurements, and valuations. Daily responsibilities include monitoring project budgets, producing cost plans and forecasts, preparing interim and final accounts, and issuing clear cost reports to internal stakeholders and clients. The role also involves assessing variations, supporting tender submissions, liaising with project managers and site teams, and ensuring commercial risks and opportunities are identified and managed. The Quantity Surveyor will contribute to accurate financial records, adherence to contractual obligations, and alignment of project delivery with agreed margins and timelines.
Qualifications
- Strong cost control and cost management skills, with experience overseeing budgets for construction or scaffolding projects.
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation, measurement, and valuation, ensuring accurate quantities and clear documentation.
- Ability to develop and maintain cost planning processes, including forecasting and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience producing concise and accurate cost reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with standard construction contracts and commercial terms, ideally within access, scaffolding, or civil engineering environments.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and IT skills, including competency with spreadsheets and cost management software.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with site teams, clients, and suppliers.
- Organized and detail-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines on site.
