Portico are on the lookout for an enigmatic, people-loving Welcome Host & Barista to become the heartbeat of a vibrant, multi-occupied building in Charing Cross. If you’re the kind of person who lights up a room, remembers a face, and can craft a cracking cup of coffee, this could be your next big move. As our brand-new Welcome Host & Barista, you’ll be the first smile people see and the lasting impression they leave with. Your mission is simple but powerful: deliver a 5-star welcome experience to every guest and visitor who walks through the door.

You’ll work closely with building management and the events team to bring the space to life with internal events, giveaways, pop-up vendor experiences, and more. This is a role where no two days look the same. You’ll also run our bespoke in-house barista service, offering visitors a beautifully crafted coffee on arrival, while coordinating concierge services and reporting through the building’s app for maintenance, gym enquiries, and general support. This is a chance to shape a one-of-a-kind welcome experience, blending hospitality, creativity, and operational excellence.

Duties include:

  • Delivering an exceptional, 5-star welcome to all guests and visitors
  • Running a full in-house barista service (training provided if needed)
  • Supporting internal events, pop-ups, and engagement activities
  • Acting as the central point of coordination for building services
  • Reporting maintenance issues and enquiries via the in-house app
  • Working closely with building management to elevate the overall experience

Shift details: 40hrs including 1hr lunch break, shifts from 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri.

Salary: £36,000-£39,000

Qualifications:

  • Previous reception or front-of-house experience
  • Familiarity with visitor management systems
  • Ideally some barista experience (but we’ll happily train you)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident with MS Office
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to use your initiative
  • An interest in facilities or building management is a bonus
