We are looking for an experienced Food Service Assistant/General Assistant/Catering Assistant with a background in exceptional food catering services to work in our prestigious independent school setting, servicing breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals for students, staff and guests.
- Operate tills and manage payments; retail experience or barista training is advantageous.
- Maintain food hygiene and quality standards, including fresh preparation from scratch.
- Assist with hospitality and special events such as theme days and food demonstrations.
- Follow shift patterns, including evening shifts (12:30‑20:30).
- Support the catering team in ensuring a safe and welcoming dining environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a catering or food service role is an advantage.
- Experience with tills and possibly barista training.
- Own transport is required due to limited public transport.
- Pass a DBS check that includes a barred list and enhanced DBS; criminal offence information will be requested.
- References will be checked upon successful application.
