We are seeking a General Catering Assistant to join our team in Scarborough, United Kingdom. This role is for a General Catering Assistant working Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 19:00 during term time. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our catering operations and ensuring high-quality food service.

Job Description

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, snacks, and beverages
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including washing dishes and utensils
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Support the catering team in food storage and stock rotation
  • Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
  • Assist with setting up and clearing dining areas
  • Contribute to the overall smooth running of the catering service

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in catering or food service (preferred)
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
  • Good customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
  • Flexibility to work during term time and cover the specified hours (11:00-19:00, Monday-Friday)
