Job Description

Start Your Career in HR with us! Are you finishing school and looking to begin a professional career? We are offering an exciting opportunity for a HR Apprentice to join our supportive and friendly HR team based in Thames Valley Park in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for a 16–17 year-old school leaver to gain valuable workplace experience in a people focused role as well as continue their studies to complete a Level 3 HR Apprenticeship through either attending college one day per week or online distance learning with structured online learning modules, assignments, and tutor support, depending upon your preferred learning style.

We will get you involved in the following areas to gain experience of all aspects of HR including:

  • Providing general administrative support to the HR team
  • Assisting with onboarding and pre‑employment checks (including safeguarding requirements)
  • Maintaining employee records and HR systems
  • Helping ensure compliance with employment, safeguarding, and safer recruitment regulations

No previous experience is required for this role as you will be given full training and support will be provided.

Qualifications

We are looking for school leavers who meet the following criteria:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths or at this stage predicted grades at this level
  • A genuine interest in working with people and building a career in HR
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, email)
