24 hours per week Monday to Thursday

Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and professional Hospitality Assistant to join our team at Baxterstorey in Reading, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be at the heart of our operations, delivering exceptional customer service and supporting our hospitality team to create memorable experiences for our guests. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will make a real difference.

  • Provide warm, welcoming customer service to guests, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Assist with food and beverage service, including taking orders, serving meals and drinks, and clearing tables efficiently.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout service areas.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of food and beverages in accordance with company standards.
  • Respond promptly and empathetically to guest requests and concerns, resolving issues where possible.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and food hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Assist with stock management, restocking supplies, and maintaining inventory as required.
  • Adapt flexibly to changing priorities and shift patterns as required by the business.

Qualifications

  • Proven customer service experience in a hospitality or similar environment.
  • Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work varied shift patterns, including evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable time keeping and a professional approach to work.
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a customer-focused approach.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or catering setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
