We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Night Chef Supervisor to lead our culinary operations during night shift hours at our facility in Runcorn, United Kingdom. In this role, you will oversee kitchen staff, ensure exceptional food quality and safety standards, and maintain efficient operations throughout the night shift. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, culinary expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor night shift kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of work.
  • Oversee all food preparation, cooking to maintain consistent quality and presentation standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene protocols, and health and safety standards at all times.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers to minimize waste and control food costs.
  • Analyze kitchen operations and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency optimization.
  • Prepare and organize the kitchen for service, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and stations are well-stocked.
  • Handle customer complaints or special requests during night shift operations with professionalism and decisiveness.
  • Maintain detailed records of food preparation, inventory usage, and staff performance.
  • Communicate effectively with day shift management regarding operational issues, inventory needs, and staff concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures during night shift operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a senior kitchen position with at least 3-5 years of culinary expertise.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and health and safety compliance.
  • Proficiency in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and food costing principles.
  • Problem-solving abilities and decisiveness in handling operational challenges.
  • Familiarity with kitchen management systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent food safety certification (preferred).
  • Experience managing night shift kitchen operations (preferred).
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost control in food service operations (preferred).
