Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to the recipes and standards set by the head/sous chef; ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Station Support – assist with the production of all food items assigned to your station and maintain your designated area with supplies, ensuring cleanliness in line with policies and procedures under supervision
- Quality Control – maintain high quality standards for all food handled, following guidance on presentation and taste standards set by senior chefs
- Team Collaboration – communicate effectively with all team members and provide support to colleagues as directed; follow instructions from head/sous chef and senior kitchen staff
- Cleaning and Maintenance – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen as instructed, reporting any equipment issues to senior staff for resolution
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or display a real passion for food
- Knowledge of some cooking techniques and cuisines
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
